AEW Dynamite 8th April 2026
The show starts with Ospreay attacking Moxley in the parking lot, he’s wearing the same suit he wore to the New Japan Sakura Genesis event last weekend, you’d have at least thought he’d have changed his clothes since then. His attack is very short lived as Marina Shafir grabs him from behind and the rest of the Death Riders descend on him. Then a black car pulls up, out steps Alex Windsor who says “awright babe?” Then the new IWGP Heavyweight Champion Callum Newman steps out with his big belt, then HENARE and Francesco Akira, they line up opposite the Death Riders and fight in the parking lot. Excalibur says it’s a wild start, the United Empire gets the upper hand. Alex Windsor and Marina Shafir come out fighting on the stage and down to the ring, then Ospreay & Moxley and PAC & Newman follow suit. The crowd chants AEW. Shafir saves Moxley from Ospreay in the ring and chokes him. Excalibur puts over Newman as the youngest IWGP Heavyweight Champion. Windsor takes out Shafir, then Moxley & Daniel Garcia double team Ospreay. HENARE runs out to save him, along with Francesco Akira. Moxley retreats and Garcia gets double teamed, PAC tries to knock HENARE down but fails, Newman hits a boot to PAC and then a plancha to the outside on him. Claudio runs in and tries to take HENARE down, but HENARE overpowers him and clotheslines him to the outside. Moxley & Ospreay get back in the ring, Moxley chokes him, but Newman saves him with a double stomp off the top. Tony puts over Newman (all I can think of is Jerry Seinfeld). Death Riders retreat through the crowd as the United Empire stands strong. Ospreay gets a mic and calls them Dick Eds, Ospreay puts everyone over from the United Empire but forgets his missus. Ospreay challenges Death Riders to a match in the main event.
Excalibur says Kyle Fletcher has had to vacate the TNT Title due to an injury, and says let’s hear from Don Callis. I thought Don said he was going to make a full recovery from Handsome-itis - isn’t that what he said on Collision last week? He lied to all of us, how dare he. Don Callis says it pains him to say that Kyle Fletcher is injured, he says there will be a Casino Gauntlet match at Dynasty to crown a new TNT Champion, Don appears to be reading all of this from an autocue. Don says he has a pivot that will blow everyone’s mind. He says Okada & Takeshita, everyone keeps asking when they are going to face each other, he says everyone will have to wait a long time for it to happen. Callis plugs the upcoming trios match.
Darby Allin, Bandido & Jack Perry vs. Don Callis Family (Konosoke Takeshita, Andrade El Idolo & Mark Davis)
Darby comes out first. Then Bandido, he’s replacing Brody King due to a personal matter. Perry comes out last. Excalibur says this is an all-star team. Takeshita comes out first, then Andrade & Mark Davis together to Andrade’s music. Andrade has pyro. Commentary put over how if Darby beats Andrade at Dynasty he’ll get a World Title match, but they don’t call it a number one contenders match. Darby and Andrade were going to start, but Andrade walks out, and up the ramp so Takeshita starts with him, Darby hits a Code Red but Davis comes in and goes for his piledriver but Darby escapes and the faces come to his rescue, Darby and Bandido take out Takeshita and Davis with dives to the outside. Tony says Andrade has left and it’s now a 3 on 2 match. Darby gets a mic and asks why Andrade is Don Callis’ little bitch. Andrade comes back out on the stage, Takeshita hits a Chaos Theory on Darby on the floor, and Don is now ringside. Commentary put over the Don Callis’ Family tactics at the start of this one, and Don is joining commentary this should be good. Takeshita works on Darby but he gets a tag to Perry who takes Takeshita out with an arm drag who rolls to the outside, Perry then low bridges an on rushing Davis to the outside, top rope Moonsault to the outside taking out both guys. Excalibur says to Don that Perry took a big risk, Don puts him over as a great young athlete but he’s “in there with the Don Callis family Schiavone”. Tony wasn’t paying attention and asks Don to repeat, Don asks him if he wants cue cards. Perry jumps off the top and eats a forearm strike from Takeshita. Andrade gets a tag and drops Perry over the guard rail on the outside, then on cue there’s an attractive lady in the front row who takes a selfie with Andrade. Don says that cost the woman $60 Canadian. Andrade tags in Mark Davis who works over Perry, while Andrade and Takeshita pose in the corner to a chorus of boos. Don says Andrade should come to the ring shirtless while riding a white horse, he’s a masculine man he says. Tony asks him why he doesn't make that happen, Tony questions Don not wanting to spend money. Davis with a clothesline in the corner and a scoop slam. Don puts Davis over, as he and Takeshita double team Perry. Takeshita tags Andrade in, hits one chop and tags Davis in who chops Perry down as he tries to fight back.
Davis launches Perry to the corner, then chokes him with his foot. Perry tries to fight back, but Davis with a scoop slam but misses a Senton, Perry with an enziguri and a hot tag to Bandido who gets the better of Davis and Takeshita, hits a military press dropping Takeshita onto Davis. Nigel puts him over as the ROH World Champion. Takeshita hits a Blue Thunder Bomb for a two count. Davis gets a tag and Bandido tries to fight back, but Davis hits a jumping kick, Bandido comes back with a rana with a pin for 2. Kick from Bandido, in comes Takeshita, then Perry hits Takeshita with a poison rana, runs to the ropes but Andrade trips him, Darby with a dive to Andrade on the outside, then makes a beeline for Don on commentary but Davis puts him in a choke from behind then launches him into the guard rail, the cameraman nearly got wiped out. Then Takeshita & Davis lift Darby off the floor and swing him and send him flying over the time keeper’s table and he lands on some folded chairs by the guard rail, he got some serious air time there! Nigel says they might have been trying to put him through the table, but overshot it. Takeshita and Davis double team powerbomb Bandido on the apron. Back in the ring, Perry is left alone to fight off Davis & Takeshita, miscommunication sees Takeshita hit Davis. Blind tag by Andrade, Davis hits the gutwrench piledriver on Perry, then in comes Andrade who hits the DM for the win.
Winners: Don Callis Family (Andrade El Idolo, Konosoke Takeshita & Mark Davis)
Post-match, Darby crawls back into the ring while Davis puts the boots to Perry. Bandido tries to protect Perry. Darby shoves Andrade, and Andrade says to wait for Dynasty then boots Darby low. Davis tosses Bandido to the floor, then pulls Perry up, Don tries to gouge his eye. Nigel says Callis got drenched by a fan’s drink, and you can see two security guards pointing at someone in the crowd. Davis and Takeshita go for a double team on Perry, when The Young Bucks music plays and they run out to save him. Lance Archer runs in and eats superkicks, then El Clon eats some superkicks too, and so does Hechicero. Young Bucks hit the BTE trigger on Davis. They set up for a double team on Takeshita, but Okada pulls Nick off the apron to save Takeshita who drops Matt with a forearm strike. Okada and Takeshita stomp the Bucks then go chest to chest, and then start hitting each other with forearm strikes. Members of the family separate them from each other. The Rascals then run in and wipe out the Don Callis Family with dives to the outside, Okada avoids being taken out but Takeshita isn’t so lucky, Okada flips Takeshita off and laughs. Then Myron Reed, who is facing Okada on Collision, dives over the top onto Okada. Well I suppose they paid off on things here, and it did make sense, but it was maybe a bit over the top.
Backstage, Lexy Nair is interviewing Doctor Sampson in regards to MJF’s claims last week about Kenny Omega. Is Omega’s stomach going to explode at Dynasty? He says MJF was trying to get in Kenny’s head, but says Kenny is in the best condition of his career, so that sounds like a negatory on the exploding stomach at Dynasty. I bet the sickos are sadge about this.
TBS Championship Willow Nightingale © vs. Queen Aminata
Aminata is apparently back from injury, she has pyro on her entrance. Commentary put over Willow beating Hikaru Shida on Collision. Willow offers a handshake but Aminata kicks her and hits a spinning Fisherman Buster for a two count. Willow rolls to the outside and says “What was that? That was a bit close” looking like a total nerd. The crowd chants for Willow. Willow gets up on the apron but gets booted off by Aminata, Nigel says Willow needs to take her more seriously. Willow with a big chop and says Welcome Back. Aminata sends Willow into the guard rail, misses a running boot, then Willow launches Aminata into the guard rail. Hikaru Shida is shown standing in the crowd watching. Willow with clotheslines in the corner and a short arm clothesline for a one count. Aminata with an arm drag, a snapmare and a running kick for a two count. Aminata puts her feet around Willow’s head and launches it into her butt a few times; commentary puts this over as some unique offense. Aminata with chops to Willow. Aminata with a crucifix pin, Willow kicks out but Aminata turns it into a submission. Let’s go Willow chants and she gets a pin attempt for 2, Aminta with a sleeper, turns it into a body scissors submission instead, then puts her legs behind Willow’s head and pulls back on the arms. Zacky Big Tekkers (Zack Sabre Jr) would be proud.
Aminata then starts slapping Willow’s ass, I don’t think I’ve seen Zack do that one in New Japan. Willow fights back with forearm strikes, but Aminata stops the comeback with one of her own. She puts Willow in a standing submission, which turns into an abdominal stretch, then rolls it into a pin for a near fall. Willow lifts Aminata up and delivers a unique backbreaker, then a hip attack in the corner and a lariat. Shotgun dropkick off the top and a DVD for a two count. They show Hikaru Shida in the crowd again. Willow went for a Cannonball in the corner, but Aminata rolls to the floor, Willow with a Senton off the apron to wipe out Aminata. Rolls her back in, goes for a Moonsault but misses. Aminata with a running forearm strike for a two count, and she’s frustrated. Aminata goes up top, hits a double foot stomp off the top for another two count. Both women exchange strikes, then open hand chops, Aminata runs to the ropes, Willow goes to intercept with a pounce but Aminata delivers a headbutt, then Willow rebounds off the ropes with a lariat and both women are down. This has been a great match so far. They show Shida in the crowd again. Both women are up, Willow with a backslide for a two count, Willow goes for the Babe with the Power, but Aminata hits an Air Raid Crash for two. Willow gets the Pounce and then the Babe with the Power for the three count. Shida doesn’t look that impressed. Willow helps Aminata up and shakes her hand.
Winner: Willow Nightingale ©
They plug Chris Jericho coming up next. And also later in the show MJF and Kenny Omega will be making appearances.
MJF Video Package putting over his career in AEW as a generational talent.
Back live Judas by Fozzy plays, and the crowd sings along. Jericho has pyro and a sparkly leopard print jacket this week. On screen it just says “Jericho” - that’s the new gimmick, he’s dropped Chris from his name. Excalibur wrongly says they are in Winnipeg then corrects it to Edmonton. Tony says he’s known Jericho since 1997, they put him over as the first ever AEW World Champion. Fans chant Jericho as he has a clipboard, he says “Well thank you Edmonton” he says it’s so good to be back on Dynamite, he says last week he said he was home and he meant it, he says this week he is going to sign his brand new AEW contract only 100km away from where he had his first ever match. He says he took a risk when he went all in with AEW in 2019, he says he’s so proud of how big this company has got and wants to continue with AEW. He said it was a risk that paid off, sometimes in his career things didn’t work and that’s okay. He said he loves pro wrestling, and says he got into the best shape of his career so he could come back as the best version of Chris Jericho. He says he doesn’t care if he’s in the opening match, in the middle of the show, in the main event, or even not on the show at all, he just loves pro wrestling. Wow what a nice guy. Jericho chants from the crowd as he smiles. I just noticed he has sparkly silver boots. He says this is the perfect time to sign his new contract, he asks if the fans want him to sign the contract, they all cheer. Before he signs it, The Demand’s music plays and Ricochet comes out with GOA to interrupt.
The crowd boo Ricochet before he speaks, and even more so when he tries to speak. Ricochet says as someone from Las Vegas, Canada sucks. He says he came out to talk to Jericho, he says they come in peace. He says do yourself a favour and don’t sign the new contract, the fans boo. He says don’t come back, why would he come back after a year out, he says he’s going to be rusty after doing karaoke with his band. He says there’s a difference between “seen shape” and “ring shape”, he says Jericho is one of the greatest AEW champions of all time, but Ricochet is the man right now, attendances and ratings are up and he was the first ever AEW National Champion. Loud Jericho chant. Ricochet says he respects Jericho and says he speaks for everyone in the building when he says no one wants him here, the fans boo. He says why don’t you pack it up, get out of his ring and go back to his cruise ship, before he actually gets hurt. Jericho says Wow, you really are bald. Ricochet puts his hat back on. Jericho says he doesn’t give a shit what he thinks, signs the contract, holds it up and the fans cheer. Jericho says what Ricochet doesn’t know is that in his new contract Jericho can choose any opponent for a match at Dynasty. He says he has a decision to make, then says okay I’ve made it, Ricochet says he made it too fast. Jericho says Ricochet is right he is a bit rusty but he’s not done this in ten years but can make an exception. He says you know what happens when you’re bald, when you come out in a fancy pants tracksuit, and he needs an opponent for Dynasty, you just made the list! Crowd cheers. Ricochet says you can’t do that. Jericho says "see you at Dynasty" and “Thank you Edmonton YEAHHH” Ricochet repeats that he can’t do that and he can’t have a list.
Lexy Nair is backstage with Don Callis and his family, Don says he has a big match for Dynasty, he was planning ProtOkada vs The Young Bucks, but instead it will be Young Bucks vs Takeshita & Okada. Takeshita says no, Callis says they need to work together like Michael Jordan and Scotty Pippin for Kyle because he’s on his deathbed. Takeshita says he wants Okada’s title, Okada laughs. Don Callis says if they work together at Dynasty then he will let them face each other at Double or Nothing. Don tells them to shake hands and they do. Okada says he is Michael Jordan and Takeshita is Scotty Pippin, Takeshita takes offence to that and they have to be separated.
Tomasso Ciampa vs. Mascara Dorada
This match is to determine the #1 entry in the Casino Gauntlet match for the TNT Championship at Dynasty. Chain wrestling to start. Ciampa goes for Dorada’s mask, Dorada with an arm drag. Both men exchange school boy roll ups, Dorada goes for a Lebell Lock but Ciampa escapes to the outside and then eyes up the TNT Championship on display ringside. Back inside neither man can get the advantage over the other, Dorada with a slingshot arm drag, superkick and a dive to the outside Ciampa side steps and Doarada lands on his feet, back up on the apron, Ciampa hits him with a knee strike, sends him back in, both men exchange strikes, lots of counter wrestling, Dorada with a headscissors, and a Tornillo dive over the top onto Ciampa. Dorada sends Ciampa back in, goes up top, but Ciampa rolls away across the ring and to the apron, asks for a time out, then drops Dorada across the top rope, then sends him shoulder first into the ring post and Dorada is down on the outside. Ref begins a count out but Ciampa goes outside, and launches Dorada into the opposite guard rail and leaves him draped over the rail. Ciampa tells Dorada to look at the TNT title because he’s never going to have it, then hits Dorada’s head on the commentary table, then says “Sorry Tony” and throws him back in the ring. Nigel says at least he said sorry. Ciampa goes for Dorada’s arm, argues with fans, then hits chops and strikes, Dorada fires back, Ciampa with a double leg then tries to slingshot him into the corner but Dorada leaps up onto the top, comes off with a Tornillo arm drag, then a rana, dodges a Ciampa charge who goes through the ropes, Dorada with a kick on the apron and a Moonsault off the top rope. Throws him back in the ring, then hits a 450 splash for a two count. Dorada goes for a handspring but Ciampa with a low dropkick, follows it up with a powerbomb across double knees for a two count. Ciampa puts him on the top rope, hits a chop, goes for something but Dorada escapes, hits kind of a 619 with Ciampa on the top, lifts him out with Ciampa on his shoulders, flips him over with a neckbreaker for a two count. Crowd chant This is Awesome, Dorada comes off the top with a Moonsault but Ciampa gets boots up, pulls his knee pad down for the running knee strike, but Dorada side steps, lands a kick, misses a second, Ciampa with a draping DDT and hits the running knee for the three count.
Winner: Tomasso Ciampa
Post-match, Ciampa stares at the TNT title.
Backstage, David Finlay is shouting into a camera about wrestling in the main event of Collision last week. It turns out they have taken out Roderick Strong and Orange Cassidy, Clark Connors says that Kevin Knight & Mistico were lucky there was only 2 of them last week on Collision but the gang is back together now. In comes Gabe Kidd fully recovered from being in a car crash a few weeks ago and says The Conglomeration have no back, he says they are a three headed dog and talks trash about the Trios Champions (Mistico, Knight & Bailey). David Finlay says on Collision this week they are coming for their gold.
Back live on the My AEW stream, Adam Copeland is mid- entrance and gets in the ring. Christian Cage’s music plays and he comes out next. Tony puts these guys over as legends. Nigel says Christian is a legend and a father to the masses, he questions whether he can trust Copeland. Cope has a mic, and the crowd chants Holy Shit. Cope says Jealousy and Pettiness were what broke up Rated FTR, he said they didn’t like being in his shadow and being his henchmen, but that was the reality of the situation, they weren’t as big as him and he wasn’t going to shrink himself down to be on their level. Bit of a weird promo, I find Copeland’s promos tend to be like that in AEW, they never come off particularly smooth. He tries to pump the crowd up by saying C&C will become your, your, your, YOUR AEW Tag Team Champions at Dynasty. The crowd cheers, and he hands the mic to Christian. Christian says wherever FTR are, they should sit down and shut up while he conducts his business. He said FTR have managed to not only piss off Cage and Cope, they have pissed off the entire country of Canada. He says as everyone’s father figure, he thinks they have been very, very naughty. So naughty, he had to pay a visit to both of their mothers, he says he wants to clarify that when he says he paid a visit to them, he means he banged them both. Cope turns his back on Cage in disbelief. Cage says he doesn’t want Stoke to feel left out, and plans to pay a visit to his mother too, but when he does it will be as one half of the AEW Tag Team Champions.
FTR’s music plays, and Nigel says they aren’t going to let their mothers be besmirched like that. They walk out on the stage, and in the ring, Cope & Cage get jumped from behind by Roppongi Vice. FTR then joins the fight and it’s 5 on 2 if you count Stokely. Outside the ring Rocky Romero lays out Copeland with two chair shots, while in the ring FTR attempts to hit Cage with a title belt but he fights them off, he goes for a Killswitch on Cash but Stoke hits him with a title belt to lay him out. Back outside the ring, Rocky holds a chair in front of Cope’s face and Trent hits a running knee strike into the chair, and into Cope. Stokely orders FTR to lift Cage up, and Stokely hits him with a spear. Nigel says Christian won’t be visiting his mother any time soon. Dax puts a steel chair over Christian’s left arm, Stoke steals Christian’s watch and Cash jumps off the top rope stomping the chair. The crowd boo, as Roppongi Vice shakes hands with FTR.
They plug “Chaos in Canada” up next. I’m sorry I thought it was the United Empire, not CHAOS.
Backstage Darby Allin is talking to himself, “Why do you care about championships?” He says he cares too much about being a World Champion, maybe in the past he was too scared of winning the big one and carrying the company. He says he needs to win his match at Dynasty more than anything so he can have the World Title shot. He gets fired up and questions what was everything for if he can’t be World Champion. He says he needs this more than anyone can imagine.
United Empire (Will Ospreay, Callum Newman, HENARE & Francesco Akira) vs. Death Riders (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, PAC & Daniel Garcia)
Back ringside, United Empire comes out as a trio, Ospreay comes out separately to his music which is interesting. Excalibur puts over Newman as Ospreay’s protege and the youngest ever IWGP Heavyweight Champion, Excalibur puts over the history and lineage of the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. Moxley and Co come out through the crowd with Marina accompanying them. The United Empire entered the crowd to intercept them. Nigel says Chaos in Canada is a fitting name for this, this is a no DQ match. Claudio with a military press drops Akira across his knee on the stage. Alex Windsor runs out and starts brawling with Marina Shafir around ringside too. Akira comes out from backstage with a ladder to take out Claudio. Then Akira & HENARE use the ladder to wipe out PAC and Garcia on their way to the ring. They set a ladder up in the ring, and Akira climbs the ladder and comes off with a crossbody to the outside wiping the heels out, Claudio is holding his leg after that one and doesn’t seem happy. HENARE goes after Claudio, choking him. The crowd chants “We Want Tables”. Ospreay pulls a table out and the crowd cheers. Tony says Death Riders have met their match, Nigel says don’t get ahead of yourself. Inside the ring, Garcia is getting double teamed, PAC comes in and hits neckbreaker on Ospreay, Akira comes in and PAC out-maneuvers him, Akira with a roll-up for a 2, a running rana and a lariat and a leg lariat in the corner. Ospreay & Newman with big boots to Claudio & Moxley who get up on the apron. Both men then dive to the outside. Ospreay pulls another table out and the crowd cheers once again. They position the steel steps alongside the table, and Ospreay & Newman start to set Moxley up for something, but Claudio saves him and press slams Newman into the guard rail, then hits a backbreaker on Ospreay. Claudio sends HENARE into the guard rail, he’s wiping everyone out. Back in the ring, Garcia, PAC and Claudio are in control of Akira and triple team him. Ospreay & Newman try to get back in the ring but get cut off, outside Moxley is choking HENARE with a shirt. Then Moxley is outside with Ospreay, while PAC, Garcia and Claudio triple team Newman in the ring. Death Riders are in complete control. Moxley bites Ospreay’s ear and Garcia chokes Ospreay with his hoodie. PAC gouges Akira’s eyes while asking who he is. In the ring, all four Death Riders deliver a train of clotheslines to HENARE, but he explodes out of the corner and wipes them out. HENARE goes to Suplex Garcia through a table on the outside, but Claudio saves him, HENARE jumps off the steps and Claudio catches him, then lifts him up for a vertical suplex and walks him around the ringside area, before suplexing him through a table on the other side of the ring! Moxley looks incredibly excited and happy with that, and the fans chant Holy Shit. They show replays, Excalibur puts over Claudio as he looked to have an injury at the start of the match but has persevered through what could be a serious injury. Back live, Claudio has broken a Kendo stick and it has splintered, Moxley takes it and drives the splintered wood into Ospreay’s right shoulder. He then tries to put a pointy bit of the wood in Ospreay’s eye. Crowd chants “You sick fuck”. Then he puts the stick up Ospreay’s nose. Tony says we’ve seen some crazy stuff in AEW but never seen that before. Claudio pulls a table out, and so does Garcia.
Moxley sets one of the tables up in the corner of the ring. Claudio and Garcia set one up outside the ring. “This is Awesome” chants from the fans as Moxley & Claudio double team Ospreay. Mox signals for a Piledriver, he flips the crowd off before delivering it in the middle of the ring. Moxley continues to work over Ospreay’s neck, goes to throw him through the table in the corner but Ospreay puts the brakes on, Moxley puts him in a choke, Ospreay calls for HENARE, who comes in, Ospreay backs Moxley into the corner and Henare with a Step Up Knee. Claudio is in and hits a pop-up European Uppercut, then Newman takes Claudio out with a roundhouse kick, PAC comes in and hits a German Suplex, Akira with a Cazadora into a double stomp on PAC, he and Garcia then have an exchange which ends with Garcia hitting a big boot, Ospreay comes in and hits a hook kick, Moxley comes back in and looks for a Death Rider, Ospreay gets out and hits a thrust kick, signals for a hidden blade but Garcia steps in front of Moxley, does the body lock roll through into the Dragon Tamer (Sharpshooter) submission, the Canadian crowd boo Garcia, Moxley runs to the ropes and hits the stomp on Ospreay. Garcia covers him but Akira makes the save breaking up the pin at 2. Tony questions how much Ospreay’s neck can take. Akira and Moxley back into each other and Moxley mocks his size, Akira keeps charging at Moxley but unsuccessfully, Moxley wipes him out, then Newman comes in and they exchange strikes. Rolling Elbow on Moxley and a superkick, Garcia comes in and eats a thrust kick from Ospreay. Both Newman and Ospreay then hit Stereo Os-Cutters on Garcia and Moxley. Double covers but kick outs at 2. Newman takes Garcia outside, leaving Moxley & Ospreay in the ring. Ospreay tries to Powerbomb Mox through the table in the corner of the ring but Claudio saves the day once again, taking Ospreay down with a double leg and a giant swing. He tells Ospreay to get up, and he’s in line with the table in the corner, HENARE comes in though and clotheslines Claudio. PAC comes in unsuccessfully taking a Blue Thunder Bomb from HENARE, who kicks Claudio through the ropes on the outside, Akira goes for a crossbody over the top rope but Claudio catches him, walks him up the steel steps next to the table, but before he can put him through the table, HENARE makes the save and tackles Claudio through the table, Excalibur incorrectly says Moxley went through the table. Then Akira powerbombs Garcia onto a table, but it doesn’t break. Ospreay puts PAC on a table, and Newman comes off the top rope with a double foot stomp to put him through it. Akira tries to splash Garcia through the table but it still won’t break! Ospreay and Moxley are left in the ring and go head to head, they exchange strikes, Ospreay goes for a spring board forearm but Moxley with a kick to the stomach and hits a Paradigm Shift, he hits a second, then a third. Before he can hit a fourth, Newman clotheslines him, then pulls Ospreay up in the corner, Ospreay hits a hidden blade to Moxley which sends him through the table in the corner. Ospreay pins Moxley for the three count which is an interesting result heading into their singles match at Dynasty.
Winners: The United Empire (Will Ospreay, Callum Newman, HENARE & Francesco Akira)
Post-match they show the carnage around ringside, Nigel says after this match there is no way Ospreay will be 100% going into the pay-per-view. Ospreay goes to set Moxley up for something, but Claudio rushes in, tackles Moxley out of harm's way and they scramble away. Tony says Ospreay was going to try and end Moxley’s career, Excalibur says that is what Moxley tried to do to Ospreay.
They show a video package going over Kenny Omega’s career with footage from New Japan and his AEW career being the first ever Grand Slam Champion in AEW history. This was very well done.
Back in the ring, Tony Schiavone introduces Kenny Omega who comes out wearing a suit and he gets a ton of pyro. He shakes Tony’s hand, Tony hands him the mic. Kenny says it’s been quite a while since he was last in Edmonton 25 years ago and puts over the wrestling scene in the area. He says he feels like he’s friends with Edmonton. Last week he said he lost his cool with MJF and if not for “Speedball” Mike Bailey, he may have done something he would have regretted. He asks what was it that he was pissed off about? He said it wasn’t the Ibushi comment, “nothing to be ashamed of” he says, was it the Diverticulitis part, he said yes he almost died from it but as one famous person said “Cry me a river”. At one point he said getting sympathy was fine, but he’s fed up with it being talked about every week. He said the names he’s had over his career “The Cleaner” “The Best Bout Machine” “The Belt Collector” “The God of Pro Wrestling” he said these were names he was proud of. He said the idea of AEW was just a concept, for fans to see something different. What makes MJF so famous was just about flapping his gums, he says he can talk shit. Omega says anything Max can do, he can do better. It’s what a God of Professional Wrestling does. Maybe MJF should have been pissed off instead, because he could never match up to Omega. But it was Omega who lost his cool, he says he realises why, he thought it was all on him and it was his responsibility to save AEW and put the belt on someone who can wrestle. He says he was wrong, it wasn’t his responsibility or his legacy at all, he says Edmonton it was OUR responsibility. Wherever they are, it doesn’t matter, the fans deserve to have a champion who wears the title with pride, they need a champion who will go down in history as one of the all time greats and it isn’t going to be MJF. Omega says his old weaknesses are now strengths and he will take the title from MJF and right the wrongs MJF has done in this company. So it shall come to pass, at Dynasty it will be MJF’s last title defense and that’s a promise.
MJF’s music plays, and they roll out the burberry carpet for him. MJF wears a red silk jacket. MJF gets in the ring and takes his sunglasses off, he asks them to cut his music. He says he was listening to Kenny and he said in 2026 he thinks he’s better than MJF. MJF says Kenny’s getting better at talking, he says it’s right that he should talk himself up, and these stupid moron fans should talk Kenny up, lord knows you have to, because deep down everyone is scared shitless, because this might be Kenny’s last shot at the AEW World Championship. He says they are all wrong because it WILL be the last title match “Kenneth”. He says to the fans the last time he faced Omega he beat your boy like a drum. He says Kenny said last week he had an excuse saying he was at 75%, I think he said 60%. MJF is curious that doctor’s say you’re at 100% “what’s your excuse going to be after Dynasty?” Kenny is going to find out how good MJF is, and that he’s not on the level of the devil. Everyone will see the God fall, and the Devil rise because he’s Maxwell Jacob Friedman, he’s better than you and you know it. Omega says he learns more about MJF every week “when we speak like this”, he says the World Title means a lot to MJF, and he thinks he would honour the tradition of shaking his challenger’s hand before the big pay-per-view, this will be the last time they meet together before Dynasty. He says what about it Pal, and asks Max to shake his damn hand. MJF ponders it, throws the mic down, then turns his back on Omega, tries to cheap shot him, Omega ducks and hits a knee strike to “knock him out”. Omega says MJF is so predictable, he takes the Dynamite Diamond Ring off MJF’s finger and puts it on his own, Omega says he knows MJF, he’s studied him, he says after Dynasty we’re not going to be hearing about how he’s better than everyone, instead we’re going to be hearing Omega bidding everyone Adieu, with a goodbye and good night Bang! The crowd cheers as Omega’s music plays. Omega drops the Dynamite Diamond ring on Max. Makes you wonder why he took it in the first place. Nigel says the World Title match will be a match of biblical proportions.

The Wonderful Review
What an underwhelming end to the show. Kenny’s promo was all over the place, he’s probably the greatest in-ring talent of all time, and yes he can talk, but the stuff he says is not organised in the slightest. The crowd were quiet for most of his promo, and looked disinterested - and this was in Canada. Kenny gets a free pass because of his in-ring ability for sure.
Speaking of bad promos, Adam Copeland never seems to deliver good ones.
The Jericho segment worked perfectly and the main issue he and AEW will have is how crowds outside of Canada react to him. I think they've done his comeback well, with bringing him back in his home town and home country, I thought the reaction this week was better than in his home town last week. Ricochet is the perfect foil I think too, particularly with how good he is as a heel. Putting him on the list was fine.
They put The United Empire over strongly, and HENARE looked like a monster. That's one thing I feel New Japan never really did with him, you always expected them to give him a push but it never seemed to materialise. Credit to AEW for making him look very strong, without taking anything away from The Death Riders. If Callum Newman appears more in AEW, I want someone to take a massive cut out of Jerry Seinfeld's head.
The TBS Championship match was great, and Queen Aminata was impressive. This was easily the best Women's match I've seen in my brief period of watching AEW regularly.
It will be interesting to see what they do with the TNT Championship.
The Don Callis family are great. Don wasn't quite so hilarious on commentary though.
I will try to catch Collision, and then it will be my first Pay Per View Review. I think I will recap the Pay Per Views more like I did with Collision last week. The problem I have with going into so much detail with Dynamite, is having to pause the stream constantly to write everything down, it does take away from just watching the matches in real time and getting to enjoy them.
