AEW Dynamite & Collision 20th May 2026
Excalibur welcomes us to the show. They show a video of earlier in the day, Young Bucks & Jericho outside somewhere.. Jericho asks for forgiveness for the things he did in the past to them, and calls them the greatest tag team of all time, they say they’ll be wrestling Ricochet, Andrade & Mark Davis tonight in a trios match. Matt Jackson says they could call themselves The Bucks of Jericho, Jericho suggests Y2Jackson but Matt doesn’t like that name. Jericho suggests why not do both “The Bucks of Jericho or is it Y2Jackson” The Bucks aren’t fans to begin with but come around to the idea of “two names for one team”. I’m sure they did this exact bit years ago, maybe it was on an episode of BTE?
The Young Bucks & Jericho vs. Ricochet & The Don Callis Family (Andrade El Idolo & Mark Davis) Jericho doesn’t have matching gear with The Bucks like Cope did last week but he does have a matching leather jacket. Don Callis is on commentary. Ricochet ran away from Jericho at the start so Jericho started with Andrade and got the better of him. Andrade immediately went outside to two women in the front row to take a picture and Jericho chopped him. The faces triple teamed Andrade, Nick Jackson was tagged in and got briefly isolated by Mark Davis, before Matt Jackson got a tag and regained control for the faces. The Bucks hit suicide dives to the floor and Jericho did a dive off the top turnbuckle, back in the ring the crowd went crazy for them and they posed for the crowd. Loud “Y2J” chants from the fans, then a “Y2Jackson” chant. Nick Jackson gets isolated in the heels corner again and gets worked over. Ricochet takes Nick Jackson’s bandana and puts it on, Don says on commentary that there’s a lot of Anti-Bald sentiment in this company and Taz agrees with him. Davis puts Nick in an abdominal stretch. Nick hits a double team arm drag and head scissors to Davis & Ricochet then gets a hot tag to Jericho, Ricochet is legal and tags out immediately to Andrade. All the babyfaces hit top rope Ranas to the heels. The Bucks hit double superkicks to Andrade and Jericho hits the Codebreaker but Ricochet makes the save. Matt gets tagged in and The Bucks hit superkicks to all the heels, but Nick misses a charge in the corner, Andrade hits the three Amigos on Matt, and suplexes Nick on top of Matt. Matt gets knees up on a Moonsault attempt from Andrade, the Bucks hit the BTE trigger on Andrade but Ricochet breaks it up with a Ricosault on Matt. Jericho comes in and tries to put Ricochet in the Walls of Jericho but Ricochet uses his leg strength to flip Jericho, Jericho clotheslines Ricochet to the outside and hits a baseball slide, they fight around the timekeeper area and Ricochet tries to Suplex Jericho through the timekeeper table, but Jericho hits a Back Suplex instead and they both go through the table. Back in the ring, the Bucks try to double team Andrade but Davis makes the save, he then accidentally hits Andrade. Bucks hit the BTE trigger on Andrade but he gets a shoulder up at 2. The Bucks can’t believe Andrade got out of that. Davis grabs a chair and distracts the referee, meanwhile The Dogs run in and Finlay smashes Matt with the Shilleagh. Andrade is on top of Matt and the ref counts the 3. Winners: Ricochet & The Don Callis Family
Post-match, Toa Liona runs in and attacks Matt Jackson. Jack Perry’s music plays and he comes out with a bag of onions (why?) and smashes the bag over Toa Liona’s head but it doesn’t do much damage as Liona decks Perry with a Lariat and Davis starts choking him with a chair. The Hurt Syndicate’s music plays and out run Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin. Everyone starts fighting around the arena. Lashley hits Toa Liona with a spear in the ring. Commentary put over the Stadium Stampede match as the biggest of all time.
Video package for Takeshita/Okada at Double or Nothing.
Backstage Renee Paquette is with Darby Allin, Renee asks him why he keeps taking these matches. Darby says he feels everything, he’s not numb to the pain, he says he has no choice, it’s the greatest feeling to be World Champion, at Double or Nothing he says MJF is the most vain man in the world, he says MJF being bald will eat MJF alive. He says he’ll do anything to keep the title from “Speedball” Mike Bailey tonight.
Video package for Darby Allin/MJF at Double or Nothing.
Tommasso Ciampa vs. Mark Briscoe - Anything Goes Ciampa comes out wearing a wonderful shirt. Mark Briscoe comes out with a trash can full of weapons and tosses it into the ring as he makes his entrance. Ciampa takes Briscoe down and hits him with a trash can, then goes outside the ring and pulls another trash can out from under the ring, he starts rummaging around in it and pulls his hand out which is caught in a mouse trap. Briscoe hits him with a kendo stick and breaks a mop over his back. Briscoe sets up a table, he sits Ciampa on a chair and Briscoe Cannonballs him off the apron. Briscoe chokes Ciampa with a steel chain and puts him on the table, he starts to climb the turnbuckle but Ciampa gets up, wraps a chain around his neck and flips him over through the table. Fans chant “Holy shit”. Back in the ring, Ciampa has a cheesegrater and Tony says “Lord have mercy”. Ciampa busts Briscoe open with a cheesegrater and the fans chant “You sick fuck”. Ciampa gets a ladder in the ring, he hits Briscoe with a trash can and puts a trash can over Briscoe’s head and hits it with a kendo stick. Ciampa wraps a chair over Briscoe’s head and sends him into the ring post. Ciampa walks around flipping the fans off, and gets in Taz’s face, Taz says he’ll choke him out on commentary. Ciampa pulls a soft toy Chicken out and repeatedly hits it with a steel chair Tony says he’s a psycho, Ciampa uses a cheesegrater on it as well and tries to pin it, the ref starts to count but Mark Briscoe pulls the ref out, and uses a fire extinguisher on Ciampa. Ciampa hits a steel sheet over Briscoe’s head and he no-sells it, Briscoe with an Exploder Suplex and Ciampa rolls to the floor. Fans chant “This is Awesome”. Briscoe pulls out a table from under the ring, he takes out a staple gun and barbed wire, and starts stapling the barbed wire to the table, would it not have been easier to just have the barbed wire already on the table? Ciampa interrupts with a trash can shot and puts barbed wire in Briscoe’s face, Ciampa continues the job Briscoe started by stapling barbed wire to the table, he then takes commentary’s notes and staples it to Briscoe’s head. Ciampa has a knee pad covered in thumb tacks and goes for a running knee but Briscoe drop toe holds him into the ladder in the corner, Briscoe grabs a screwdriver and busts Ciampa’s head open with it. Tony says Briscoe still has the paper stapled to his head and Taz says it looks like the brim of a cowboy hat. Ciampa suplexes Briscoe into the ladder which breaks, and gets a two count. “AEW” chants from the fans. Ciampa hits a knee strike with the knee pad covered in tacks, he sets up two chairs and goes to set up Briscoe for the Psycho Driller off the top, but Briscoe fights out, repositions Ciampa on the top and puts the chairs back to back and flips Ciampa onto the chairs. “Holy Shit” chants from the fans, Briscoe then hits a Jay Driller off the apron through the Barbed Wire covered Table, he throws Ciampa back in the ring and hits the Froggie Elbow off the top for the 3 count. Winner: Mark Briscoe
Back from an ad break. In the ring, Tony Schiavone starts talking about Bandido vs. Swerve Strickland but Prince Nana interrupts him and calls Tony a substitute teacher and an old man. He tells Tony to leave, and introduces Swerve Strickland as the most dangerous man in AEW. Swerve starts to make his entrance but is jumped from behind by Bandido who tosses him around ringside. Swerve tries to fight him off but Bandido hits a flip dive from the inside to the outside. He sends Swerve into the ring steps. Nana has a chair, but Bandido takes it from him but turns his back on Swerve, allowing him to attack him from behind and take control. In the ring, Swerve tries a Vertebreaker on a chair but Bandido gets out and military press slams Swerve with one arm showing his strength. Bandido goes to use the chair to assist a move on Swerve but Swerve takes the chair and tosses it at Bandido who bats it away, they stare each other down and Bandido swings the chair at Swerve who manages to run away.
Backstage TBS Champion Willow Nightingale says winning the TBS Championship was the best moment of her career. By beating Mercedes Mone she proved she could be anything in the world. She says that in her last TBS title defence against Red Velvet she injured her shoulder, she says she wants to wrestle at Double or Nothing in front of her family and she wants to win the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, but she must withdraw from the Owen Hart tournament, and she must relinquish the TBS title. She says it’s been an honour and privilege to hold the title and with 10 successful defences she is overjoyed to have been the face of TBS, and she will be coming back, right back to the top. Commentary says it’s a tough break for Willow, the brackets for the Women’s Owen Hart Tournament have been updated to show a Wildcard replacing Willow and it appears the match won’t be taking place at Double or Nothing. Taz puts Willow over for being a class act on commentary.
Jon Moxley vs. Kyle O’Reilly Moxley gets a good reaction, Renee is ringside and puts over Kyle O’Reilly’s return from injury. Mat wrestling to begin with, then a strike exchange, a long feeling out process here with neither man getting an advantage over the other. Fans fire up as they exchange more strikes, Moxley gets a body shot on Kyle who drops to the mat, Moxley with a thumb to the eye and body shots with Kyle in the ropes, but Kyle dumps Mox to the floor. Kyle struggles to run for a dive, and Moxley drops him with a big boot. Moxley mocks Kyle’s bad mid section, Kyle tries to kick Mox away who grabs his legs and a stomp to his mid section, running punt to Kyle’s mid section. Moxley continues to dominate Kyle and applies body scissors on the mat. Kyle escapes with fingers to Moxley’s eyes, Kyle with a series of kicks and a dropkick to the knee. Commentary put over that Kyle doesn’t need to win this match to get a title match. We’re past half way of the 20 minute time limit. Moxley goes for a sleeper but Kyle escapes and hit a flying knee off the top rope, he went for an Ankle Lock but Moxley got the ropes, Kyle booted Moxley off the apron and both men go for big boots and clotheslines and both men are down on the outside. Moxley cuts Kyle off on the top rope, Moxley bites Kyle’s head and rakes his back before hitting a Superplex as they announce 15 minutes. I feel like we’re going to get a time limit draw here to get Kyle the title match at the pay-per-view. Kyle gets a cross-arm breaker, then transitions it into an Ankle Lock, Moxley with a beautiful counter and gets Kyle into a side headlock, Moxley keeps looking for a Bulldog Choke but Kyle gets his feet on the ropes before he could get it in properly. Moxley looked for a piledriver on the apron but Kyle dropped him arm first across the ring apron, and dropkicks him on the outside. Back in the ring, Moxley gets a cutter for a 2 count. Moxley delivers strikes and commentary suggests he knows how little time is left in the match, Kyle gets a submission and then throws Moxley overhead (Taz literally called it suggesting Kyle throw Moxley and he did it). Kyle went for Moxley’s ankle but Moxley kicked him away, Kyle came back with a PK and both men are down. Both men strike each other as we get a 1 minute remaining announcement. Moxley misses a running stomp and Kyle gets an ankle lock in the centre of the ring and Kyle applies leg scissors. Moxley is in agony and refuses to submit. The bell rings for a time limit draw. Result: Time Limit Draw. They announce that Kyle gets a title shot by lasting the full 20 minutes. Kyle gets on the mic and says he didn’t survive anything and Moxley barely survived he says when he gets his title shot he wants no time limits.
Backstage Renee is with Hikaru Shida and Kris Statlander, Statlander apparently isn’t cleared to compete but says she will be in time for the Women’s World Title match at Double or Nothing. Shida keeps speaking for Statlander, and Statlander says to watch herself.
Backstage RUSH challenges Darby Allin to a World Title match next week, provided he retains at Double or Nothing.
Athena & The Triangle of Madness (Thekla, Skye Blue & Julia Hart) vs. Thunder Rosa, Mina Shirakawa & The Brawling Birds (Alex Windsor & Jamie Hayter) Athena makes her entrance, then Triangle of Madness. Excalibur puts over that this team has the ROH Women’s World Champion and the AEW Women’s World Champion on it. Rosa comes out, then Mina, then the Brawling Birds and they all walk to the ring together. Athena & Mina are going to face each other at Double or Nothing, Athena was going nuts at the start shouting at Mina, but Athena & Rosa start. I haven’t seen Thunder Rosa in forever but she is still great. On commentary Tony says look at the International Talent in this match, from the UK, Japan & Mexico. Taz adds “and the United States” to which Tony says yes if you count the US as International. Excalibur says most of the world would count the US as International. In the ring Hayter kicked her own partner Windsor and Excalibur said there was a miscommunication in the ring, and Taz says “and the announce team” which makes Excalibur laugh. Athena cheap shots Mina allowing Thekla to take control, and she chokes her in the corner on the top rope with her shin across Mina’s throat, it was a unique choke. The heels all run around and drop the faces from their corner. Julia Hart comes in and dominates Mina, “Let’s Go Mina” chants from the fans. Skye Blue gets the tag and chokes Mina in the corner with her foot, and for some reason Alex Windsor came in and cheap shotted Blue who was not happy and went at her while the ref tried to get her out of the ring, this did allow the heels to get more cheap shots in on Mina in their corner. Excalibur says Athena has been ROH Women’s World Champion for over 1500 days, really? Julia Hart puts Mina in the Tarantula and Thekla chokes Windsor in the ropes. Athena comes in and Mina hits a face plant for a double down, hot tag to Rosa and Blue gets a tag too. Rosa with double knees in the corner, and takes her top off and throws it into the crowd, is that something she does in her matches? She hit a Northern Lights Suplex with a Bridge but Thekla broke up the pin, which brought in Jamie Hayter with a Uranage across the knee, Hart came in and hit a lungblower to Hayter and then a kip-up, Windsor hit a spinning Blue Thunder Bomb to Hart, Athena hit some move to Windsor, then Mina came in and ate a back suplex from Athena, Athena then dropped Rosa with a forearm strike, she’s dominating. She went for a dive to the outside on Mina but Mina kicked her, Mina went for a crossbody off the apron to the floor but Athena caught her and powered her up onto her shoulders, Mina then countered into a Tornado DDT on the floor. In the ring Thekla tags herself in, and Blue is still in the ring with Rosa, the Brawling Birds pull Blue outside and hit a double team, Thekla has the World Title and the ref tries to take it from her, this allows Hart to mist Rosa behind his back and Thekla rolls up Rosa for the 3 count. Winners: Athena & The Triangle of Madness Post-match the faces rush the ring to tend to Rosa and the heels flee.

AEW World Championship: Darby Allin © vs. “Speedball” Mike Bailey Bailey comes out first, then Darby. Commentary put over that Darby barely survived against Sammy Guevara on last week’s Collision. Loud “Darby” chants at the start. MJF’s music hits and he gets a massive pop. He comes out wearing a light pink suit, and Darby doesn’t seem happy that he’s here. MJF joins commentary. The bell sounds and “Speedball” drops Darby with a kick and a Dropkick, Bailey with another kick in the corner and goes for the Ultimate Weapon but Darby rolls to the apron, Bailey with more kicks and MJF calls him a moron on commentary. Bailey with a leg sweep to Darby on the apron, who flips backwards and lands on his head on the apron, on the subject of morons that was pretty moronic. MJF says Bailey’s tights are Grimace Purple, and Bailey hits a Triangle Moonsault to the outside. Bailey throws Darby into the guard rail and Excalibur says Bailey’s only recent singles loss was to MJF, MJF says he’s the best in the world, Excalibur says surely Darby is the best in the world because he beat MJF for the World Title, MJF calls Excalibur a moron and says Darby beat him with a low-blow and Darby will lose to him at Double or Nothing but MJF says he’s confident that Speedball will win tonight. Meanwhile Bailey delivered strikes and a double knee drop on the outside. MJF says Darby cheated to beat him, and he would never cheat to win a match. Bailey continued to dominate, until Darby crotched him on the guard rail, then Darby hit a Scorpion Death Drop on the guard rail. “AEW” chants as MJF looks on in disgust. MJF says Darby is stupid for constantly maiming himself. Darby throws Bailey into the guard rail. Taz says he agrees with MJF that Darby shouldn’t be such a fighting champion. Darby starts working over Bailey’s arm and Darby then puts a front guillotine but Bailey gets out of it quickly and puts a leg bar on Darby, then rolls over to a sleeper, Darby manages a pin attempt and Bailey kicks out, Darby goes back to the guillotine. Taz apologises for his broadcast partners for ganging up on MJF earlier, MJF says it was despicable. Bailey decides to run through the ropes to try and break the hold and both men hit the ring apron and are down on the floor, that looked rough. Both men go back in the ring to break the ref’s count, then Darby says come on bitch and slaps Bailey who retaliates with a knife edge chop, Excalibur says MJF is the most insecure man in pro wrestling and MJF fires back that Excalibur is the one wearing a mask, and Excalibur says Touche. Both men try to hit each other into the ring steps and Darby moves the steps onto Bailey’s bare foot, but Bailey drops Darby with a kick using his free leg. Darby does his crazy dive to Bailey and MJF looks on disapprovingly, Tony says it was reckless and MJF says that’s the right word for Darby, he’s too reckless and questions how Darby doesn’t care about his legacy. Darby goes for a Coffin splash but Bailey delivers double knees to his back, more kicks from Bailey who goes up for the Ultimate Weapon but Darby moves out of the way and he misses. MJF calls Darby a reckless stupid idiot, and Tony says he’s also the World Champion. Darby puts Bailey in the Scorpion Death Lock but he makes it to the ropes, Darby immediately hits a Coffin Drop and puts him back in the Scorpion Death Lock again. MJF calls Bailey a bum and tells him to reach the ropes, even with Kevin Knight encouraging Bailey to get to the ropes and him being close to them he taps out which makes him look like a total geek. Winner: Darby Allin ©
We immediately go into the third hour and Collision. MJF is in the crowd arguing with fans and Kevin Knight has the mic and says “keep your head up Speedball” he says he’s proud of him and proud of the way he fought Darby. Knight puts over Darby and says he represents AEW and no one has heart like Darby and it’s up to Darby to humble MJF’s ass and says after Darby beats MJF and shaves his head bald, he’ll be waiting for Darby, he says don’t let the fans down, we are all counting on you. The funny thing was that the bald referee Bryce Remsburg was looking on as he said all this. After Knight and Speedball left, MJF blindsided Darby from behind and hit a series of punches to Darby in a mount position and then argued with fans, who all chanted “Bald” at him. MJF holds up the World Title and says “Three Time” he hands his watch to Taz on commentary. MJF pulls out clippers from under the ring and goes to use it on Darby, commentary says he wasn’t going to shave him but use it as a weapon. Ospreay gets a mic and says “Don’t go anywhere m8 I’ve got sumfing to say to ya” he says Joe can’t kill him when he’s already died in this ring, he says this year the stakes are high as the winner of the Owen Hart Tournament gets a World Title shot at All In at Wembley Stadium, it’s not just the company on his back, it’s a whole country. He says The Death Riders killed the old version of Will Ospreay and they rebuilt him into a murderer, a killer, an ASSASSIN. He says at Double or Nothing he will beat Joe and will win the Owen Hart Cup and then the World Championship.
Backstage, Cope & Christian cut a promo. Cope talks about their history throughout their lives as Christian looks disgusted. He says at Double or Nothing FTR wants to kill their tag team, I thought this was Cope’s idea originally. He says they want to make FTR say “I quit”. Christian says you’ve made some questionable choices, he says when you’re born you look like your family, when you die you look like your choices. He says they are going to fuck them up at Double or Nothing. I wonder if Jack Perry learned the F Word from Christian?
Obligatory RUSH Squash Match. It’s funny that he’s called RUSH and his matches last only a couple of minutes. Post-match he takes the mic and does his catch phrase.
Up next is another squash match with the Women’s Tag Team Champions Divine Dominion winning in 2:50. It’s Squash City.
They plug that Mick Foley is hosting the Double or Nothing Buy In show alongside Renee Paquette. That should be good, I’d like to see Foley do more with AEW, presumably he’s no longer under a WWE Legends deal. Excalibur plugs all of the matches for Double or Nothing.
AEW World Tag Team Championship: FTR © (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) vs. The Conglomeration (Orange Cassidy & Roderick Strong). The faces come out first then FTR come out with Stokely, commentary seemed somewhat confused about what happens if The Conglomeration win, Excalibur says The Conglomeration would defend the titles against Cope & Cage but Tony says he would think Cope & Cage would still want FTR. A Professional Wrestling ring is no place for a soft toy
This was a fine show as normal, it was just there for me this week. Hats off to Briscoe & Ciampa for having one hell of a hardcore match, but aside from that there wasn't much that really stood out. Everything moved along fine, but I do feel like maybe something should have happened with this being the go-home show before the big pay-per-view on Sunday.
Darby was obviously going to retain, and the MJF/Darby stuff made sense to continue the story for the pay-per-view. I still think Speedball looked stupid though with the tap out, he was so close to the ropes, but oh well, he had to lose.
Ospreay cutting a promo to position himself for All In made sense since that has to be the direction they go in, likely MJF wins the title on Sunday and then Ospreay can win it at Wembley Stadium.
Triangle of Madness are great, I love their stuff.
Moxley & O'Reilly had a great match, slow pacing and methodical, but it did what it needed to do.
Man is Jericho over, it's hard to believe this guy was getting "Please Retire" chants not that long ago. The Bucks are fantastic as always.
C&C will surely beat FTR at DON and get the WIN. I expect them to go up against The Bucks next. Cope's promos are still a bit suspect IMO.
I'm looking forward to Double or Nothing, I'm glad Monday is a Bank Holiday in the UK so I can get to watch the show then, hopefully it will be simply Wonderful.
