AEW Dynamite 25th March 2026

Wow we’re kicking things off with Kenny Omega vs. Swerve Strickland. Kenny comes out with tons of pyro, Taz is back on commentary. They cut to Renee Paquette who is standing ringside wearing a black leather jacket covered in roses, she says she interviewed Kenny earlier in the day and said Kenny only wanted to do the best for AEW as an EVP and if you abuse the power then you’re not the best anymore. I think they’re pushing the narrative that Swerve only wants the power so he can abuse it.

Kenny Omega vs. Swerve Strickland - #1 Contenders Match/EVP Status on the line

Prince Nana distracts Omega at the start and Swerve takes advantage, drops Omega over the top rope throat first and hits a big boot to the face, he looks to the crowd who boo. Omega with a hurricanrana, Swerve rolls to the outside and Omega wipes him out on the outside, he marches Swerve around ringside, bounces his head off the commentary table, throws him into the steel steps, chops his chest and Swerve sits on a chair by the guard rail, Omega takes a run up and delivers a V trigger while Swerve is seated on the chair. Omega laughs hysterically at the camera. Both men attempt a suplex on the outside but no one can get the other up, Swerve then pushes Omega into the guard rail. Back in the ring Swerve puts Omega in a standing submission, Omega escapes, chop exchanges, Omega with a take down and a Kitaro Crusher for a 2 count. Omega with a second rope Moonsault for a 2. Omega goes for a V trigger but Swerve side steps him, waistlock, standing switch, Omega with a release German Suplex but Swerve lands on his feet, he attempts a suplex but Omega blocks. Omega with a spinning kick to the back of Swerve. Omega with a V trigger to the back of Swerve while he’s in the corner. Omega gets Swerve up on his shoulders while he stands on the second turnbuckle, I was thinking Electric Chair, Excalibur says possibly an Avalanche One Winged Angel, Swerve slips out and lands on his feet, and climbs up to the top with Kenny. The commentators put over how dangerous this is, Swerve with a massive Super Back Suplex. Both men are down, and the fans chant This is Awesome.

Both men are on their feet and exchange big boots, before they then hit big boots to each other at the same time and they are both down again. They get to their feet, and exchange forearm strikes. Taz said maybe Swerve would be a great EVP. Two snap dragon suplexes from Omega. Swerve rolls out onto the apron, Kenny signals for another snap dragon on the apron but Swerve blocks it, he goes for it again, but Swerve grabs referee Aubrey Edwards and delivers a low blow to Kenny. Boos from the crowd, and Swerve kicks Omega in the head. Swerve gets up on the guard rail and gets Kenny up there with him. Swerve goes for a piledriver but they slip and spill into the front row, Swerve picks Omega up and they both get back up on the rail, with Swerve delivering the piledriver! Excalibur points out that it’s not really a guard rail in the old fashioned sense but more of a board of lights, he says it’s not a bike rack, Taz says those hurt too as if from experience. Back in the ring Swerve hits a Suplex into a sit out powerbomb for a 2. The crowd are standing and we get another This Is Awesome chant. Omega manages a roll-up for a near fall, Swerve hits a house call and a Swerve Stomp to Kenny while he’s in the ropes, then hits another one off the top, but Omega kicks out at 2. Prince Nana is not happy at ringside, and nor is Swerve. Taz says that is Omega’s big match experience. Omega can’t get to his feet, Swerve pulls him up but Omega backs him into the corner and hits a flurry of desperation back elbows. Fans chant Kenny. Omega boots Strickland into the corner, goes for a Powerbomb but Swerve lands on his feet, goes for a Powerbomb of his own into a Powerslam for a 2 count. Who’s House? Swerve’s House chants from the crowd. Swerve mocks Kenny as if he’s going for a V trigger which the fans boo, but Omega hits him with a knee strike, then a rip-cord knee strike and a V trigger. Omega lifts him up on his shoulders for a One Winged Angel but Swerve blocks it, goes a Vertebreaker but Omega counters out lands on his feet, he hits another V trigger to Swerve’s back, goes for another One Winged Angel but Swerve gouges the eyes to escape then hits a Vertebreaker, but Kenny is on his back when Swerve goes to cover him, so has to roll him over, Omega gets a shoulder up at 2 and Swerve can’t believe it. Swerve goes up top for a Swerve Stomp but misses, Omega then hits a knee strike, and another V trigger, lifts him up and hits a One Winged Angel for the 3 count. Taz says Wow what a match, it was a good one for sure. Omega retains his EVP status and is now the new number one contender.

Winner: Kenny Omega

We cut to the commentary desk, they plug Rush vs. Darby Allin in the main event.

Darby Allin video package showing various things from his AEW career including teaming with Sting. Nothing from last week. Maybe they’re going to give him the main event push?

Backstage Will Ospreay says he has an issue with anyone who is associated with Jon Moxley, he challenges PAC to a match in Winnipeg mate, then goes on to address Moxley and says he thanks him for allowing him to spend time with his son, but he won’t forgive him for what he did to him in front of his countrymen, his family, his son and his mother. He says he wants him in a match at Dynasty and calls him a motherfucker.

Back ringside, Death Riders music plays. It’s Jon Motherfucking Moxley along with Daniel Garcia, Wheeler Yuta and Marina Shafir. Top Flight and Zayda Steel come out with Christopher Daniels in a waistcoat. Well we know who’s winning this one.

Death Riders (Jon Moxley, Daniel Garcia & Marina Shafir) vs. Top Flight (Darius & Dante Martin) & Zayda Steel

Commentary says this is Top Flight’s home town, Death Riders jump them at the start. Inside the ring the ladies start, Zayda with a head scissors and a hurricanrana off the top. Marina with a kick, Zayda tags Darius in, and Garcia tags in on his side. Darius with a 1 count after a clothesline. Moxley gets a tag and stomps him in the corner, dropkick from Darius, double team on Moxley and he then gets clotheslined to the outside. Babyfaces wipe out the heels with suicide dives to the outside. Dante is legal with Moxley, Yuta distracts the ref and Marina grabs Dante’s leg, Moxley rakes the back of Dante and hits a superplex off the top for a 2. Garcia is tagged in, punches in the corner and mocks the crowd, tags in Marina who delivers body shots to Dante, who then tags Moxley in. Excalibur says Marina may be the most dangerous player in the Death Riders, Taz points out that when Excalibur says player he is accurate, because she plays Judo and Judo is a sport. Tony says damn he’s missed Taz and he’s doing some great stuff there, and Taz says at least someone does.Garcia gets the tag, and continues to work over Dante, tag back to Moxley who delivers chops, goes for a back suplex, but Dante lands on his feet and hits a dropkick. Moxley gets the tag to Garcia who takes out Darius on the apron, then walks into a jumping knee from Dante.

Marina comes in and takes an Enziguri. Hot tag to Zayda who hits two Thesz presses and a tornado DDT on Marina for 2. A step up knee strike in the corner, a cross body off the top but Marina rolls through, Zayda floats over and hits a rolling elbow, runs to the ropes, Marina grabs the referee and on the outside Yuta grabs Zayda’s boot for a distraction, Marina with a kick to Zayda, fans chant Fuck You Yuta. Marina tags Moxley in and has Zayda on her shoulders in an Electric Chair position, Zayda gets out of it, launches Marina into the turnbuckle which crotches Moxley. Taz says “Yam bag action”. Moxley tags Garcia, who comes in with a waistlock on Zayda and she hits him with back elbows, and slaps him. She makes the hot tag to Darius. Double team implant DDT from Top Flight on Garcia but the ref is distracted by Yuta, Chris Daniels goes after Yuta but Yuta hits a Busaiko Knee on him. Zayda hits a suicide dive on to Yuta! Inside the ring, Darius gets a roll up for a 2 count, Moxley tries to interject but eats an elbow strike. Wonderful leg pick by Garcia who locks in a Dragon Tamer. Marina takes out Dante with a kick, Moxley hits a stomp on Darius while he’s in the Dragon Tamer and then Garcia pins him for the 3.

Winners: Death Riders (Jon Moxley, Daniel Garcia & Marina Shafir)

I was quite impressed with Zayda Steel. Taz says Death Riders win a lot of matches. Moxley asks for a microphone. He says it’s not nice for Ospreay to say mean stuff about other people on TV. He says if he wants a grudge match at Dynasty he’s got it, in the meantime don’t let your mouth get you in trouble. We see an on-screen graphic confirming the match.

Young Bucks video package, they say they want to get the Tag Team Titles back for a record fourth time.

“Speedball” Mike Bailey vs. Rocky Romero

Rocky doesn’t get an entrance. Rocky mocks Bailey at the start, runs into a kick then a series of kicks. Triangle Moonsault to the outside from Bailey and he wipes Rocky out, back in the ring Rocky cowers in the corner and rakes the eyes for the advantage, he throws Bailey over the top but Bailey holds on and skins the cat, Rocky celebrates to the camera, then eats two kicks and the Ultimate Weapon and this one is over super fast.

Winner:“Speedball” Mike Bailey

Excalibur says let’s go back to the main event of Revolution and the Texas Death Match for the AEW World Championship. Well I wasn’t expecting we’d go from a Mike Bailey squash match to the Revolution main event. Video package from the main event, commentary say we will hear from MJF next.

WONDERFUL SEGMENT OF THE SHOW

Back ringside MJF comes out wearing a waistcoat, he’s stealing Christopher Daniel’s gimmick. Tony says challengers are lining up to challenge him. MJF immediately mocks the crowd, he says he hanged the Hang Man, Taz says that’s a good line. MJF says Page can never ever be World Champion again. MJF says that was the easiest match of his career at Revolution. He wants to talk about the facts, he’s still World Champion, the grandest prize and no one deserves it more than he does. He tells the crowd Big Hebrew is talking (that’s such a stupid name) he says he’s better than you and you know it. He says no one is on the level of the devil. Cue Kenny Omega’s music. Taz says MJF needs to realise who’s getting in the ring with him. MJF asks Kenny if he can help him (but not on the mic), Kenny gets a mic and says you’ll have to excuse him for how he looks and smells, he’s just had a match. He then asks MJF “what’s your excuse?” Omega says he’s heard MJF talking all smug, mocks his devil catchphrase, he then says his names The Cleaner, Best Bout Machine, The God of Pro Wrestling. If MJF is the Devil, then he will happily call himself God. Fans chant for Kenny. He said when he should have taken time off, he didn’t because he owed it to the fans, when he faced MJF in the past he was only at 60% and he can admit that now that’s he back. This version of Kenny Omega is pretty close to 100% and he is probably better than MJF. And it’s okay if the fans know it, because he knows they do. He says MJF you know it too, you son of a bitch, and says to put it there and see who is the better man at Dynasty. MJF says you’re on. He then walks away from the handshake. Tony says MJF is a creep with no honour. Kenny is left in the ring on his own, fans chant for Kenny again. He says we’ll end on his catch phrase and says ThankYouGoodNightBang and thanks the fans. Graphic on the screen to make the World title match official at Dynasty.

Earlier in the day Renee interviewed Cope and Cage, Cope looks to be growing a mullet (it’s no match for Juice Robinson’s). Christian says FTR chose to end their relationship with Copeland, they attacked his wife Beth but worst of all they chose to spike piledrive him. He walks off as Copeland looks on in disbelief, he says Christian is such an asshole, but FTR are bigger assholes. He says they threw away their friendship and history he says they went too far when they put their hands on his wife. He gets fired up and says he is going to find them and end their careers.

Back ringside, FTR’s music plays. Stokely says you shouldn’t care what Adam and Christian have to say, but you should care what FTR has to say. Cash said they decided not to carry Copeland to the end of his career, he says they don’t take a back seat to anyone, it’s not 2009 anymore and he doesn’t need Copeland anymore. Dax takes the mic, says Cope and Cage are not the same men they used to be, they are just a nostalgia act and everyone knows it. He says if he’ll drop Cope’s wife on her head what do you think he’ll do to him? Top guys out. FTR argue with fans at ringside, then Orange Cassidy’s music plays for the next match. Orange Cassidy & Roderick Strong are due for action, Stokely barges into Cassidy, so Cassidy weak pushes Stoke, FTR then pushes Cassidy to the ground, Strong who had already passed the camera making his entrance for the upcoming match, rushes back and pushes both Dax and Cash as referees come to separate them. This will surely set something new up between these two teams down the line.

The Conglomeration (Orange Cassidy & Roderick Strong) vs. The Dogs (David Finlay & Clark Connors)

Cassidy & Finlay to start, fans chant Freshly Squeezed, Finlay with a chop and Cassidy tags out. Roddy chants from the crowd. Both men exchange chops and strikes, Finlay with a drop toe hold, front face lock, tag to Connors, Roddy gets a tag to Cassidy they double team chop Connors in the corner with Cassidy doing weak chops. Pendulum backbreaker from Roddy, Cassidy with an elbow drop. Connors gets a tag to Finlay they go to double team Cassidy with no success, eventually Cassidy hits a double hurricanrana, goes for a suicide dive but Finlay catches him and sends him into the guard rail, Connors then runs right through Cassidy almost Pounce like and sends him flying. Roddy tries to come to his rescue but Finlay drops him over the guard rail and he too gets run through by Connors. Tony says all four guys are talented. David Finlay lifts Cassidy up for a Suplex and just drops him in a show of power. Excalibur says David Finlay is estranged from his father because he never won a World Championship. Tony says Finlay is a fourth generation wrestler. The Dogs continue to work over Cassidy, and he needs to get a tag.

Finlay with shoulders in the corner to Cassidy, tag to Connors. Cassidy begins to make a comeback, slumdog millionaire on Finlay and eventually tags in Roddy who is on fire, backbreaker on Finlay, dropkick on Connors, chops in the corner and a running boot, he gets a near fall off a slam, but Finlay breaks it up. Connors with a powerslam on Roddy they go for a double team charge but Roddy dodges it, he tags Cassidy and uses him as a weapon. Cassidy with a DDT for a 2 count on Connors. Roddy goes for a gut buster on Connors but Finlay charges him, they then hit the double team charge they were going for earlier, Connors with a spear and Finlay with a chop block from opposite sides. Cassidy gets back in the ring and puts his hands in his pockets. Double dropkick, kip up, tornado DDT on Finlay, tries a beach break on Connors who rolls through, Cassidy with a PK but misses an Orange Punch, Finlay with a chop block on Cassidy. The Dogs signal for a double team, Finlay lifts Cassidy up for a suplex and Connors comes off the top with a spear. Excalibur says they call that move the Full Clip and Connors pins Cassidy for the 3. Excalibur puts The Dogs over.

Winners: The Dogs (David Finlay & Clark Connors)

I like The Dogs, I wasn’t expecting them to win this one so I was actually pleasantly surprised. I think this match wasn’t the best as they always seemed like they were rushing things, I don’t know if they didn’t have as much time as they would have liked?

Video package of the Women's Tag Team Champions “Divine Dominion” Megan Bayne & Lena Kross they cut a promo on the former champs Willow Nightingale & Harley Cameron.

Tony gets super excited plugging the Women’s World Championship match which is up next. Then he plugs Rush vs Darby Allin in the main event saying it’s the main event because they might destroy the ring.

Backstage Kyle Fletcher says he made this third defence of the TNT Championship last week on Collision. He says he is as good as he says he is and is on track to being the greatest TNT Champion of all time, he says he’s undefeated in 2026 and says Kenny Omega and MJF can’t claim that, he says he’s not happy with Don Callis’ agreement to work with MJF and says he believes they should be fighting MJF and trying to get the World Championship to the Don Callis Family, he says he is the man to do it. Fletcher brings Takeshita in the frame, he says he knows Takeshita doesn’t like Okada but doesn’t want anything to get in the way of what they have together. Takeshita says nothing could ever come between them and especially not Okada. Protoshita as a team came before ProtOkada, they then hugged.

Mina Shirakawa comes out with a bouquet of flowers which she tosses to the floor. Excalibur says apparently Mina has a secret admirer and that’s where the flowers came from. Thekla comes out with tons of pyro. They show the “crime scene” photo of Toni Storm’s attack from last week, Thekla has an interesting entrance. Excalibur puts her over on commentary.

AEW Women’s World Championship “The Toxic Spider” Thekla © vs. Mina Shirakawa

Tony says this could have been the main event of the show but Rush (he calls him Andrade) vs Darby Allin he says “knowing those guys they could destroy everything ringside”.Thekla mocks Mina at the start, and Mina throws her around and hits a draping DDT off the top rope. Thekla rolls to the outside and Mina hits a suplex on the floor, Thekla tries to fight back and Mina with an open hand chop to her chest. Let’s go Mina chants as she rolls Thekla back in the ring. Mina with a Tornilla for a 2 count. Thekla with a drop toe hold into the ropes and a running boot. Both women are on the apron and Thekla goes for a German Suplex but Mina escapes and lands on the floor, she sweeps Thekla’s legs and Thekla hits the apron face first, Mina then hits another draping DDT this time off the apron to the floor. Mina screams to the camera that she fights for Toni (Storm) and fights for herself. Thekla comes back with chops and strikes, Mina with chops and kicks, Thekla sends Mina into the ring apron and then comes down with a double stomp to Mina’s back. Thekla then says to the camera “if she’s gonna dance, I’m gonna dance” and mocks Mina.

Taz says Mina has a lot of flamboyancy. In the ring, Thekla with a snapmare and a thrust kick, lazy cover from Thekla. Taz asks Excalibur if he ever covered someone like that in a match when he used to wrestle, Excalibur says he didn’t but he wasn’t a toxic spider like Thekla is. Thekla with an arm bar, then rolls around the mat, mocking Toni Storm. Mina fires back, hits a slingblade, then a slap to the face, running back elbow in the corner, dropkick off the top but Thekla kicks out at 2. Mina with a unique submission, like a Cloverleaf or Single Leg crab but she was sitting down on her. Goes for a Figure Four but Thekla kicks her away, they exchange strikes, Thekla hits a spear and both women are down. Thekla gets to her feet and removes a belt which I didn’t know she was wearing, the ref tries to get it off her before she can use it and Taz says that belt might fit the referee. Thekla then pulls brass knuckles out from her top while the ref is distracted. Taz says she’s toxic. Thekla misses a strike, eats a back fist from Mina, Mina goes for a Back Suplex but Thekla punches her with the knucks and gets the 3 count. The rest of Triangle of Madness come out to celebrate with Thekla after the match.

Winner: Thekla ©

Backstage Kenny Omega is with Renee Paquette she says what a gosh darn superbly stupendous night it’s been for him eh? She says next week there will be an official contract signing for his World Title Match with MJF, but with a caveat if there is any physical contact between them then the match will be off. Kenny says that’s typical MJF adding some skullduggery to proceedings. Kenny says if it’s really his time then he’ll take the belt from MJF. Mike Bailey walks in and says he wrestled Kenny at last year’s Dynasty, he says he admires him and believes the title “God of Pro Wrestling” is fitting for him. He hopes Kenny beats MJF and when he does he’ll be first in line for a shot at the World Title, but for now he just wants to shake his hand. Kenny shakes his hand and says he’ll give him first shot. They keep shaking hands and Kenny says you can let go now pal. Awkward.

Backstage Ricochet says that they are The Demand and he wants to apologise for his actions and he lost his cool. He says he beat Kenny Omega in the only singles match they’ve ever had. He complains about not being pinned to lose his National Title at Revolution.

Main event time, Rush comes out , they show highlights of Rush winning a trios match with his LFI boys on Collision. Tony says there are so many people lining up to challenge for the World Title, including Darby Allin. Cue Darby’s entrance.

Main Event: Rush vs. Darby Allin

Nice to see Darby’s recovered from last week’s car crash. He climbs up on the top turnbuckle for his entrance and is immediately launched off the top to the floor by Rush who blindsides him, then launches him into the guard rail. Fast start here. Excalibur says remember this is no count-outs. Taz calls Rush a wildman. Rush throws Darby into the guard rail, hits his head on a steel chair, then sends him into the steel steps. Excalibur says Darby is undefeated in his last six singles matches. Rush pulls the steel steps away from the ring, Darby tries to fight back, but Rush overpowers him, and launches Darby into the steps. Crowd chant for Darby. Rush hits Darby’s head on the apron, gets up on the apron, Darby jerks Rush down from the apron and he gets crotched on the ring skirt, Darby rolls into the ring, builds up steam and goes for his crazy dive to the outside but Rush side steps him and he misses, lands on the floor and hits the guard rail. They show replays, back live it sounds like the fans are chanting Fuck Rush which sounds interesting. Rush has Darby on the ring apron and is biting his head, Darby is cut open, Darby tries to fight back but Rush launches him with a Belly to Belly overhead throw to the floor.

Rush poses on the second turnbuckle, the ref and the doctor are checking on Darby, Rush starts stomping him and the ref tries to stop him, Rush walks towards Darby and referee Paul Turner immediately jumps up to try and stop him doing anything but Rush walks by and climbs up on the commentary table to play to the crowd. Darby looks in a bad way here, moving very slowly. Taz says he’s friends with Rush and they go way back. Back in the ring, Rush starts choking Darby so presumably he’s okay, he still looks very rough. Rush with a dropkick. Rush is looking incredibly strong in this match but I don’t suspect that’s what they were going for here, and I know Darby is great at selling but he looks absolutely fucked and genuinely hurt here. Rush is doing a lot of posing and speaking in Spanish to the camera, he’s wasting a lot of time here. He chokes Darby with his foot in the corner. Tony says Darby is in trouble and Taz just says yep. Rush with face washes goes for his dropkick in the corner, fakes out and just delivers one boot to Darby’s face and laughs at the camera. Rush does his lying down pose, and Darby comes back to life and leaps on top of him with right hands, Darby looks to be having problems with feeling in his hands, Rush drops him with a headbutt. Rush does more posing for the fans and they start to chant his name. Rush goes to suplex Darby from in the ring to outside, but Darby blocks, puts a front chancery on him with this throat over the top rope, and begins to rake Rush’s back, Rush is draped over the top rope, Darby delivers a coffin drop to Rush’s back, bounces off him manages to land on his feet on the outside, he rushes back in, Rush rolls outside and Darby hits his crazy dive, meanwhile while this cool stuff is going on Excalibur is plugging matches on upcoming shows and misses everything. Stop plugging shit during matches! Darby sits Rush on a steel chair at ringside, slaps him, bites his head then climbs to the top rope I thought he was going to do a senton but instead he does a front dropkick which looked dangerous to himself as he had to essentially back bump himself off the top rope to the floor. Both men are down and Rush is holding his ribs. There was a ‘this is awesome’ chant. It looks like the chair exploded and Darby puts a piece of it in his mouth before rolling Rush into the ring.

Darby goes for a cover on Rush but he kicks out at 1, gets to his knees and looks at Darby in disgust and gets to his feet first. They exchange strikes and chops, Rush no-sells Darby’s strikes and chops, while his chops and strikes look like they are genuinely hurting Darby. Darby hits a Code Red for a 2 count. Another this is awesome chant, as Darby charges at Rush and he does an overhead belly to belly throw into the turnbuckle. There is literally only 2 minutes left of the show. Rush with boots and strikes in the corner, the ref pulls him away, Rush hits a leaping elbow strike, he goes for the horns dropkick in the corner but Darby dodges it, goes for a roll through and a jack knife cover and manages to get a 3 count. Darby immediately collapses on the outside and Tony can’t believe he won.

Winner: Darby Allin

Mark Davis and the Don Callis Family come out, Davis drops Darby with a Gutwrench Piledriver on the floor. Excalibur says MJF has paid the Don Callis family to take Darby out, Andrade dressed as a detective from the 1920s is bickering with Callis about the attack as Roppongi Vice and Lance Archer put the boots to Darby in the ring. Archer drops Darby with a one handed chokeslam. The show goes off the air with Darby looking even more dead than he did during the main event match.

Darby Allin has a bad evening on Dynamite

Darby Allin had a bad evening on Dynamite but at least he wasn't involved in a car accident this week

The Wonderful Review

Another fine show, although I was slightly concerned for Darby Allin during the main event. To channel Will Ospreay, he looked proper 'urt he did. Darby is a great seller, but also let's not forget he's not a big guy so a lot of the stuff he "sells" probably isn't selling in the traditional sense. I do worry sometimes he pushes himself too much. Maybe not in this match, but you combine this week with last week's wacky coffin match and he needs to take care of himself. I don't feel like Tony Khan would put his foot down and tell him to chill the fuck out with some of the stuff he does.

Anyway, as for the rest of the show - Kenny Omega was great and they seem to be pushing "Speedball" Mike Bailey which I don't have a problem with. Talented wrestler gets a chance to shine? Vince McMahon would be raging.

I like The Dogs, I want to see more of David Finlay.

I'm unsure about the Women's matches so far, although I've primarily seen Mina Shirakawa wrestle.

Dynasty looks like it will be a Wonderful show indeed.
