AEW Collision 11th April 2026 Recap

Trios Championship Match: The Dogs (Gabe Kidd, David Finlay & Clark Connors) defeated Mistico & JetSpeed (“The Jet” Kevin Knight & “Speedball” Mike Bailey) © At one point on the outside Mistico was “biting” Finlay’s head, despite the fact he wears a mask that covers his entire face so this looked incredibly stupid. On commentary Tony called Gabe Kidd a nutjob. This was a great match. The Dogs won when Gabe Kidd pinned Mike Bailey. Kidd hit a piledriver on Bailey and then Finlay & Connors hit the Full Clip.

Post-match, Roderick Strong shouts DOGS on the big screen and he’s backstage with Orange Cassidy; they challenge The Dogs for a match at Dynasty with a third mystery man to team with them.

They show a promo by Will Ospreay from Dynamite, he puts United Empire over. Newman says he has the IWGP Heavyweight Championship which is the biggest belt in all pro wrestling, very interesting. Ospreay says at Dynasty it’s only going to be one on one with Moxley for the Continental Title.

Kris Statlander & Hikaru Shida won a tag team match against two jobbers. Excalibur says they are an unlikely duo. They show a promo of Shida asking Statlander to team with her. Tony says on commentary that Harley Cameron is distraught backstage that Statlander is teaming with someone else. Shida was in control at the beginning, Statlander had a blind tag which Shida didn’t seem happy about. Shida asked for a tag but Statlander ignored her, she hit Saturday Night Fever for the win. Shida looked unhappy behind Statlander’s back, but in front of her acted happy. Nigel says there was plenty of more meat on this bone.

Promo from two women, I didn’t catch their names. Apparently they are challenging the Women’s Tag Team Champions at Dynasty Zero Hour.

Backstage promo from Jon Moxley and the Death Riders from after Dynamite. Moxley says that was so much fun, chaos, tables breaking, we live for this. You stepped into our world and survived, congratulations. He questions whether The United Empire would want to do it again. He says they live in chaos, no one else in the world can run with them. Will Ospreay is hellbent on breaking his neck, so headstrong, so determined, so talented, Ospreay has done everything right up until now but with this play he is making, 20 minutes alone is a very long time to not make a mistake, and with Ospreay’s neck the way it is, he can’t afford to make a mistake. He says screw Japan, it's us against the world.

Rush defeated Anthony Bowens for the #2 spot in the Casino Gauntlet Match at Dynasty for the TNT Championship. Commentary put over Bowens showing a killer instinct to try and get a spot in The Opps. It’s interesting to see what they are going to do with Bowens, since he has a real song by Jane’s Addiction for his theme, and they give him pyro but he doesn’t seem to be winning matches. He’s a very good wrestler but I suppose that’s the quality of AEW, the standard is so high. Both men had a hard hitting battle in this one. Rush got the win with the Horns dropkick in the corner. Post-match he celebrated by standing on the commentary table.

Lexy Nair was backstage with The Brawling Birds innit. Alex Windsor says Ospreay is going to cut the head off the snake that is Moxley, but she’s going to chop off the arse. When Will breaks Moxley’s neck, she will put Marina Shafir right next to him. Jamie Hayter addresses Thekla saying she didn’t think she’d make it this far, the last time she was across the ring from her, she didn’t see a toxic spider, she saw a tosser who didn’t wanna get hit. At Dynasty she will get hit more than she’s ever been hit before, Hayter says the Women’s World Title means more to her. Windsor says “girls you should stop drinking because we’re going to beat the piss out of yew”.

The Hurt Business (Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin) defeated two jobbers. Tony says this is the first time they have teamed since November. Excalibur says they’ve been away due to an injury Bobby Lashley suffered. A dominant squash as you would expect.

Backstage Harley Cameron & Mina Shirakawa are sitting on a sofa with Lexy Nair looking sad. They drink champagne to drown their sorrows.

Young Bucks defeated The Don Callis Family Luchas (Hechicero & El Clon). Rocky Romero accompanied Hechicero, who is the CMLL World Champion. Fans chanted Young Bucks at the start. Rocky tries to get an El Clon chant going but with no success. As you can guess this was a fantastic match. El Clon put a brilliant submission on Matt in the ropes, but commentary rightly pointed out it was an illegal move, the ref didn’t make him break it though, then Hechicero put Nick in a submission, then tried to pin Nick despite neither of them being legal and referee Rick Knox counted the pin anyway?! Rick Knox looked like a total imbecile here. Excalibur called Rocky Romero a “certified twirp” and Nigel grassed him up to Rocky, who threatened Excalibur. The Bucks won with the TK Driver (if they’re still calling it that) on El Clon.

Recap of Jericho and Ricochet from Dynamite.

International Championship: Kazuchika Okada © defeated Myron Reed. Okada came out with Don Callis and Lance Archer with him. Callis joined commentary. Okada won with the Rainmaker.

Promo from Willow Nightingale from after Dynamite, she challenged someone to come back and challenge her any time any place, it almost felt like this might have been a dig at Britt Baker but maybe I’m wrong.

Backstage Divine Dominion cut a promo, Hyan and Maya have caught their attention. Is that the two women who cut a promo earlier? They say they are beneath them.

Tony Schiavone runs down the card for Dynasty. They plug Jack Perry defending the National Title against Mark Davis on Zero Hour as a new match.

Main Event: The Brawling Birds defeated Thekla & Marina Shafir. Commentary put over only two women have defeated Thekla and Jamie Hayter is one of them. Marina comes out through the crowd, she has Thekla in the corner and gives her instructions. Heels jumped the faces at the start. Thekla choked Hayter with part of the protective cover from the guard rail. Lots of fighting around ringside, they fought for a few minutes before the match even started. Thekla asked the commentators how they were doing. Alex Windsor finally threw Marina in the ring and the bell rang to start the match. The Brawling Birds won this one, with Two Birds One Stone on Marina Shafir, Hayter pinned Shafir. Commentary put over Shafir laughing immediately after being pinned.

Marina Shafir laughs hysterically while being pinned in a match by Jamie Hayter because why not?

The Wonderful Review

This was a perfectly fine show, which in truth had some great matches such as The Bucks match and the Trios match. But on the whole I wasn't that interested in the last two matches in the least.

The Dogs winning the Trios titles so close to the pay-per-view I guess was fine, I probably wouldn't have done that personally but I do like The Dogs and realistically the way the match is set up for Dynasty does make sense with The Dogs fighting The Conglomeration in recent weeks.

I guess everything was fine, but maybe not Wonderful?

Two weeks in a row Collision has just been fine, just not Wonderful.
